Arrival in Capri

The first step is your arrival. Whether from Naples or Sorrento, you’ll sail across the turquoise sea toward what seems like an island suspended between sky and water. As the wind caresses your face, the horizon expands, and little by little, the unmistakable profiles of the Faraglioni emerge. That’s the first sign that your open-eyed dream is about to begin.

Right at this moment, hold your partner’s hand, close your eyes, and take a deep breath, letting the scent of the sea salt embrace you. Today, leave behind the daily stress, worries, and problems to give yourselves a day of pure love.

Upon arrival, you’ll step into Marina Grande, welcoming you with its vibrant colors: the whitewashed houses, the green prickly pears, and the deep blue sea.

But after the initial awe and wonder, focus your first destination is Anacapri. Technically, it’s the other side of the island, filled with wonders.

If you’re a young couple who loves freedom, I recommend renting a scooter. This will let you travel freely, without time constraints, stopping wherever you like, even just for a quick photo!

If, on the other hand, you prefer a more relaxed and glamorous option, take a convertible taxi with its classic canvas roof. It will be a romantic journey with a view of paradise.

Exploring the island upper side...

Spend the first 10–15 minutes climbing up incredible landscapes, and you won’t be able to resist stopping for a moment along the road to admire the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius from above. Here, you’ll feel that thrill of wonder that only magical places can offer.

Once in Anacapri, you’re just a step away from the highest point of the island: Monte Solaro.

This is an experience you cannot miss! There are two ways to reach the top, and I want to explain both so you can choose wisely.

The first is the panoramic chairlift, which takes only 12 minutes to reach the summit. Those few minutes, suspended between land and sky, will make your heart race and set your imagination free.

However, if you’re a couple unafraid of heights—but the idea of a chairlift isn’t for you—you can opt for the hiking trail. A romantic walk where you can stroll hand in hand, stopping along the way to exchange looks and smiles before one of the most stunning views in Italy.

Oh, and you may be wondering: “But what awaits us at the top?”

The answer is simple: an endless view, the Faraglioni, the Amalfi Coast,

and the sea stretching into the horizon.

Anacapri with a little bit of magic...

Here, you’ll find a small panoramic café, perfect for a toast to seal this special moment. A little advice: after taking your pictures, put your phone away. Capture this moment in your mind and your heart, it will help you realize how beautiful it is to be here, together. And do you know what they say here? Whoever kisses on Monte Solaro will never be separated. Now it’s time to descend from Monte Solaro, because just a few steps away in Anacapri, there’s another place worth visiting: Villa San Michele. A magical place where time seems to have stopped. Why is it magical? Because its enchanted garden is full of ancient statues, Roman columns, and fragrant flowers. The view from the terrace is so breathtaking that it feels unreal. Lastly, you’ll admire the Egyptian Sphinx, a symbol of the island’s mystery and beauty.

There’s even a tradition here, if you lean on the sphinx, close your eyes, and make a wish, legend has it that you might just see your future... maybe together?

I know the morning has already been full, and it’s time for a well-deserved lunch break, with a view, of course, and an explosion of flavors. Here, tradition and goodness come together in something as simple as it is exquisite: the Caprese salad: a perfect balance of juicy tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and fragrant basil. And if, like me, you can’t resist a little indulgence, a slice of Caprese cake is a must, the perfect dessert for a couple: chocolate, almonds, and a pinch of magic.
