Holiday in Naples

Naples is not just a city, it is an experience that overwhelms you.

It is the scent of coffee that invades the alleys in the morning, the sound of voices chasing each other through the Spanish Quarters, the warmth of a freshly baked pizza, the sea breeze that caresses Castel dell’Ovo.

Here history, art and tradition intertwine in a unique mosaic: from the ancient Greco-Roman ruins to the baroque treasures, from the secret undergrounds to the breathtaking views that dominate the Gulf.

It is the city of legends, of mysteries, of music that comes out of the balconies and of people who welcome you as if you were family.

You don’t come to Naples just to see, but to feel, to live, to be moved.

If you are ready to be surprised, Naples awaits you!

To the question “why choose Naples?”

I will try to answer by trying to describe Naples to you… what does Naples have…

N apoli Sotterranea, a city beneath the city, a complex of tunnels stretching under Naples

A rts, preserved in major museums like the National Archaeological Museum

P izza, a symbol of Naples worldwide—the true Margherita pizza was born here

O ver the shadow of Vesuvius, which destroyed Pompeii in the past but still looms over Naples

L ungomare of Naples, one of the city's most breathtaking spots

I ncredible feat of San Gennaro, Naples’ patron saint, whose celebration is of great importance

The best time is definitely in spring and autumn.

 Here’s why:

  • Autumn: September, October and November is the ideal time for a relaxing trip!
The temperatures are mild and the days are still quite long, without the crowds and heat of summer. In addition, Naples in autumn has a unique atmosphere, with the sea that can still be warm enough to enjoy the promenade, but without the chaos of the high tourist season.

  • Spring: April, May and June, in this period the city blooms!
The climate is pleasant and temperate, with sunny days but not too hot. This is a perfect time to walk the streets of Naples, visit museums and take excursions in the surrounding areas, such as to the Vesuvius Park or Pompeii. The city is also quieter before the summer crowds arrive.

                                                    How to reach Naples

To reach Naples, there are several options, each with advantages depending on your travel preferences and the distance you are coming from.

Here are the best ways to get there:

By Plane: Naples is well connected to many Italian and foreign cities thanks to Naples-Capodichino Airport (Naples International Airport). This airport is located just 7 km from the city center and offers direct flights from many European and Italian cities.

How to get to the city from the airport:

Taxi: The easiest way, although a bit more expensive. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the center of Naples.
Alibus: A shuttle that connects the airport to Naples Central Station (Central Station and Port) in about 20-30 minutes.
Train: You can take the “Campania Express” train or the regional train that connects the airport to Naples Central Station in about 15 minutes.

By Train : Naples is a major railway hub and Naples Central Station (Stazione Napoli Centrale) is well connected to major Italian cities.

Getting to the city from the central station:
Naples Central Station is well served by public transport such as the metro, buses and taxis. In just a few minutes, you can be in the heart of the city.

By Car : If you are travelling by car, Naples is easily accessible via the A3 motorway, which connects the city with the rest of southern Italy, particularly Salerno, Reggio Calabria and the Amalfi Coast.

Traffic can be heavy, especially in high season, so it is advisable to look for parking in advance.

By Ship, Ferry or Hydrofoil: If you are on the islands of the Gulf of Naples such as Capri, Ischia or Procida, you can take a ferry or hydrofoil to reach Naples. Ferries depart regularly from the ports of Sorrento, Ischia and Capri and arrive at the Port of Naples.

From the Port of Naples to the city center:

The port is very close to the center, so you can easily take a taxi, a bus or simply walk.

Once you arrive in Naples, you can enjoy the beating heart of the city, its historical and cultural wonders, with a wide range of public transport to explore every corner of the city.
